Before we get started, let's iden fy the different areas of the screen and available tools by clicking on the image below. This document is designed to familiarise you with the layout, func onality, tools and what is possible with a digidoc document and how to interact with it. What you see will be all the func ons available, many of which are op ons that you choose to have or discard when reques ng your digidoc. Introduc on to Please click on this image! This uses the “Pop-Up Image” func on, where you can have a large view of the same image or, as in this case, a different larger image to that displayed to show more detailed informa on. ZOOM This tool will toggle allowing the user to zoom in our out. This can also be done by double clicking on a page. User interac on tools The following user interac on tools are located below the document on computer view. Please note, these are added or removed based on your selec on when reques ng your digidoc document. Their usage are as follows: TABLE OF CONTENTS This operates as a toggle on computer, turning the TOC on or off depending on current state. THUMBNAILS This operates as a toggle, turning the thumbnail pages on or off depending on current state. SHARE This tool enables the user to socially share the publica on or provide access as a link in an email. PRINT This tool enables the document to be printed by the user. This can be the en re document, a range of pages, le or right page. DOWNLOAD This tool enables the document to be downloaded by the user. This can be the en re document, or currently viewed pages. Click HERE for more info. This shows what notes the user has added to their view of the document. NOTES TOGGLE SOUND This tool toggles the on/off sound of the page turn. FULL SCREEN This tool will open the document to full screen. ESC key on keyboard will exit full screen.
User interac on tools Cont. AUTOMATIC PAGE TURN This tool sets the document to a SlideShow changing the page every six seconds - Very useful for photo galleries. At the top of the document are another set of tools to assist the user, together with on-screen op ons: DOCUMENT NAME AND PAGE NUMBER | This area at the top le show the name of the document being viewed together with what page(s) and of how many pages is currently being viewed. A user can manually enter a known page number to jump to that page. LINK TO... | Located the top right, this bu on too is requested when ordering your digidoc. The tle of the bu on is provided by you as is the des na on link. Typical usage for this bu on is to add a tle of ‘Website’ or actual website address (e.g. www.digidoc.online) and have the link go to your website. However, the tle and des na on is up to you. SEARCH | Located top right, is a powerful tool and enables searching of the en re document for any text the user entered for their search term. Please note however, this will only work for documents that are textually based i.e. it will not work for a PDF document created from scanned pages which by defini on are images on pages. ADD NOTE | This is located at the top right corner of your document page (or top le in the case of the last page) and is where the user can add a note for their reference (This is user and browser based only and is not added to the document itself. Please see detailed func onality of this tool).

NEXT PAGE PREVIOUS PAGE FIRST PAGE LAST PAGE Features that are not supported on mobile Some desktop features are not available on the mobile version at this me: Notes: without a keyboard, wri ng notes is considerably more meconsuming. Select Text: without a mouse, text selec on is considerably more difficult . Share: all mobile browsers have a built-in share func on that your readers can use to easily share on all apps that support it. Not just Facebook and Twi er, but also other apps that the reader uses like WhatsApp, Slack, and many, many more. Print: while prin ng from mobile devices is slowly becoming more common, it is mostly for technical reasons that this is not possible. However, users can save the original PDF (the full PDF or the current page) to their mobile device and print from that. Sounds are more intrusive on mobile and therefore disabled. The Autoplay func on for videos is also disabled. Some browsers don't support this, but this also saves your readers' data bundles by not playing video automa cally. Pages can also be turned by clicking and holding down the le mouse bu on on the page corner allowing you manually turn the page as you would with a physical book.
Users adding notes to documents, does not add it to the actual document itself but is user/browser based and is stored only in the browser in which that user entered the note. In other words, it is a private note for that user only in that browser. If that user created the note(s) using Chrome and then views the document again in Firefox, the note(s) will not be available, but returning to Chrome will then re-display the note(s). Seven different note colours can be created for the user to easily iden fy them based on their colour choice related to subject ma er. Common usage for notes are in the educa onal environment whilst learning from a digidoc document, whereby users can make notes to highlight certain things so they can easily get back to them for reference by clicking the Notes icon at the bo om of the screen which will list all notes entered in the document. It need not be limited to the educa on environment, as it is a useful tool regardless of the document type. For travel, it could be used to iden fy or remember to tell someone of a par cular place or hotel. Basically, any document that could require Notes to be created by the user would benefit. Pop-Up Images Impact where more detail is required! Pop-Up Images can be a larger version of the same image or a completely different image, depending on requirement and detail you wish to show. Having mul ple Pop-Up images on a page or double page spread will create an image gallery style, allowing a user to click through each of the images as demonstrated on the next two pages.

If the thumbnail does not provide the required impact such as the image on the le which is a fixed size and posi on... Add video to your document Having video in your document is a powerful tool to showcase anything, such as visual instruc on on how to repair something, showcasing a hotel or to provide audible lectures - Anything where seeing and/or hearing is of value.
We currently support the inclusion of YouTube and Vimeo videos. All we require is the video URL and we can add your video(s) in a variety of methods shown on the next pages. If the document is downloaded by a user, the video(s) added to your document will be linkable from the PDF itself! AWESOME!

All links inserted in your document and any email addresses entered are automa cally built in when the digidoc document is created! These can be le as is but, from a visual presenta on perspec ve, it is o en much nicer to give the link a different treatment. Your link could say ‘click HERE to find out more’ where the ‘HERE’ is the same link, just presented be er - To do this however will require our team to add the link(s) to the text for you. For example: Links are important for a variety of reasons. With digidoc, you can have links to other pages within your document or external links. Your link may say ‘go to www.digidoc.online to find out more.’ Here you will see the link URL (website) and you may be happy with that or ... LINK TO... | Located top right, and called ‘digidoc Website’ in this document can be selected as an op on for a permanent link to any URL. You decide the tle of the bu on and the intended des na on. Typically, this is used as a link to your own website and might be labeled ‘Website’ but, some clients have mul ple digidoc documents and use this bu on as a link to their library of documents of which the document being viewed, is just one of many.

Your document or gallery can be secured with a password at the me of digidoc crea on, meaning it is built into the document itself. This is very useful to prevent general access and protect the content of your document for things like: Why you would want to protect the document, is en rely up to you. Once set, all you need to do is provide the password to whomever you wish to give access - Simple as that!
